Jewelry Care
Oxalis Jewelry is made to be worn, lived in, and enjoyed. With simple, mindful care, your pieces will age beautifully and last for years to come.
Each piece is hand-fabricated using traditional metalsmithing techniques. Thoughtful handling will help preserve both form and finish over time.
Sterling Silver & Brass
Sterling silver and brass naturally develop patina as they are worn. This is a normal and often appreciated part of fine metal jewelry.
To care for your jewelry:
-
Remove before showering, swimming, or soaking in hot tubs or hot springs
-
Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products
-
Store pieces dry and separately to help prevent scratching
If your jewelry becomes dull, a gentle polish with a soft cloth is usually all that’s needed. Oxidized details are intentional and help highlight texture — polish lightly to maintain contrast.
Hollow Form Construction
Select Oxalis pieces are constructed as hollow forms, a traditional metalsmithing technique that balances sculptural presence with comfortable wearability. These pieces are durable for everyday wear and require no special care beyond normal handling.
Gemstones & Heat-Sensitive Stones
Some gemstones are sensitive to heat, sudden temperature changes, or prolonged exposure to water.
To help preserve gemstone jewelry:
-
Remove before bathing, swimming, or using hot tubs
-
Avoid wearing in saunas, hot springs, or high-heat environments
-
Store away from direct sunlight when not in use

Storage
When not being worn:
-
Store jewelry in a dry place
-
Use a soft pouch or lined jewelry box
-
Keep pieces separate to prevent scratching or tangling
For sterling silver, storing jewelry in an airtight bag or anti-tarnish pouch can help slow tarnish over time.
